Realign Denim Releases its First Accessory: Beruto!

Since our establishment in 2021, we have been introducing jeans in three different silhouettes and in six different fabrics, all coming from Japan. All pairs of jeans we have been releasing so far are made with the utmost of care and are designed and developed to withstand the test of time and to fade beautifully.

Since our biggest denim-drop, in October last year, we have been thinking about branching out to create the ultimate accessory a man needs most to accompany his pair of jeans, a belt. We wanted to create a belt following the same approach as we have on jeans; the belt we wanted to design needed to be well-made, long-lasting and good looking, and these wishes brought us to ByBoaz from Nijmegen, the Netherlands.

Realign Denim x ByBoaz

ByBoaz was founded in 2013 out of a deep admiration for ancient craft techniques. Boaz first worked with discarded army canvas, teaching himself how to design and (hand)sewing techniques. In these first few years, his focus soon shifted to leather, which became his new go-to material as he quickly saw the endless possibilities. Boaz started to design and develop leather accessories, creating a huge range of products, which he mainly sells online. With over a decade of experience, Boaz now operates from a well-known denim store in the Netherlands, where customers can see his craftsmanship live in action.

Without the use of machinery, Boaz is crafting all his leather products with his hands and some craftsmen tools. Working with high-quality vegetable tanned leather, Boaz is offering a collection of items, made-to-order products and some small custom-developed batches. While these products are very different in terms of designs and use, they all share the same high-quality and durability. All items made by ByBoaz are life-lasting and made to gain character and patina over time and wear.

We teamed up with ByBoaz for an exclusive and small-scale production of high-quality belts which are made to last a small eternity and to gain character and patina alongside your pair of jeans.

The Beruto Belt

Our Beruto Belt is crafted from a 3.8 mm thick vegetable tanned natural cowhide originating from Italy and has been cut in a 32 mm width. Due to its width, the heavy duty Beruto belt has a subtle appearance, even though it is built to withstand the test of time.

The single sprong buckle is a solid brass casted buckle, having no welds or soldering points and is therefore very durable and life-lasting. The buckle has been attached to the leather by a hand-stitch (pony stitch) using an 8 strand waxed thread which has been stitched through the leather twice. The combination of the chosen material and craft technique will make this belt life lasting, allowing it to gain character and patina alongside your pair of jeans!

Because we are aiming for products that fit well, we have developed the Beruto Belt in three different sizes. We also added just 5 punch holes, providing a custom-made look. Please find below the three sizes as well as the sizes of our jeans which match best:

85 – waist: 30, 31, 32

95 – waist: 33, 34, 36

105 – waist 36, 38

Our Beruto Belt will be available in both natural and black. While the natural version obviously hasn’t been painted, the Black Beruto Belt is dyed by hand, using a water based homemade leather dye. The belts come with a custom debossed “Realign” logo on the belt tip as well as the ByBoaz logo on the backside of the buckle.

The Beruto belt is handmade in the Netherlands from high-quality vegetable tanned leather and will be exclusively available on our webstore for €125.
